kenneth Posted October 27, 2008 Share #1 Posted October 27, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Only last night I prepared a suggestion for anyone visiting Leeds with a camera. This mornings postman brought me information about an exhibition of the work of Marc Riboud showing his street scenes of Leeds in 1954. As a photojournalist he was commissioned by the Picture Post to document every day life in Leeds. His work was assumed lost until it was discovered in a dark room in London in 2004. To accompany the exhibition a 160 page book will be on sale from mid December and more information about the exhibition can be found at Leeds City Museum - Homepage

stunsworth Posted October 27, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 27, 2008 Thanks Kenneth, one to visit for sure. I've not been to Leeds for ages, though I was a student there briefly in the 1970s.
alun Posted October 27, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 27, 2008 What a wonderful idea. *And* Riboud's marvellous pictures!! I wonder what the chances are of individuals spotting themselves in old pictures -- that's something that has always intrigued me.

I propose to do just that I was 8 years old at the time and lived in Beeston in a back to back scullery house
