I was in London last week looking for an M2+50/2,8.However,I ended up buying an R8 and a 90/2.8.bargain.The lens sn is a 3323xxx made in Canada. Can anyone throw some light on these canadian lenses? fernando_b Posted October 20, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 20, 2008 Canada, Wetzlar or Solms don't matter. They are same built quality. Difference in R90 Elmarit is between the two models. Is it the 2nd version or the first? The second (four glass elements, lens hood disappearing inside the focussing ring when retracted), is a great lens considering the economic design. Just a little too sharp for portraits, even wide open. It has only one defect, when taking pictures with strong light sources just at the extreme sides of the field of view, it has a little flare. I don't know the first version. If I'd be allowed to judge only from MTF (but this is not right), it should be very similar. Fernando. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
