You can code it yourself if you are using a Millich modified adaptor. Plus how will the lens work if it does not have the coding on the lens? I got my lens and adapter several years ago. My adapter cannot be coded, but I've used it successfully with the M8 anyway. If you mean that its not focus coupled then it's not - but the enormous depth of field means that virtually everything in shot is naturally in focus unless you're shooting close up at f/4.5 when you'll have to estimate the depth of field or use hyperfocal distance. For the library pics, I pre-set the lens to 2m and f4.5. According to the DOF scale, this means everything is in focus from 1m to infinity. Then I set the Leica 21-24-28 external finder on 21, the M8 on auto, and shot away, never bothering to look through the rangefinder. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
