Canfred Posted October 11, 2008 Share #2 Posted October 11, 2008 I have a Gossen Lunapro I need to replace, does anyone know the difference between this and the Lunasix? Thanks, Wilfredo Hi Wilfredo , you can find the full manual for both at butkus org that should help. One point I like to make both use mercury cells while a conversion is possible its not always accurate. Better is the Lunasix F it uses the 9v alcaline. doubice Posted October 11, 2008 Share #3 Posted October 11, 2008 I have a Gossen Lunapro I need to replace, does anyone know the difference between this and the Lunasix? Thanks, Wilfredo Wilfredo, There were many models of the Lunasix and the Lunapro. The original version, made during the late 1960's and 1970's, was called a Luna-Pro in the US and Lunasix-3 throughout the rest of the world. This was done strictly for marketing reasons, set by the US importer at the time; both meters were identical. Excellent information can be found on the Gossen site, including manuals: GOSSEN Foto- und Lichtmesstechnik, Exposure Meter, Light Meter, Luxmeter, Luminance Meter The free manuals provided by Butkus will probably be better quality scans - that site is truly magnificent if one is looking for an old manual. Just to add some information - the early gray Lunapro / Lunasix meters cannot be serviced by Gossen anymore; apparently only the later, black versions. Also, these early meters used the 1.35V PX13 / PX625 Mercury batteries - those are now discontinued. If you do a "Google' search for 'PX625 replacement', you will find lots of information as to how to tackle that issue. Best, Jan

cmatter Posted October 20, 2008 Share #5 Posted October 20, 2008 Man.. a Luna Pro... takes me waaaay back ! As I recall.. the Luna Pro was the top of the line pro model.. greater range, more features. The dial was also large enough to paste a Zone System chart on it, too. I believe the Luna Six was the less expensive "starter" model. Please correct me if I'm wrong,, but aren't both of these meters CDs meters.. an obsolete technology?? Personally I'd get a used Minolta Auto Meter III, or.. even better a Minolta Flash Meter IV or V. The flash meters were great.. read both ambient and flash.. very accurate. I still have.. and use an Auto Meter III. Sold all my flash meters (and color meters) a while ago.
