marknorton Posted September 24, 2008 Share #9 Posted September 24, 2008 Thanks David, I enjoyed Photokina as well, though there's definite advantage in having VIP access. Still, I got their new brochure LOL.
krabat Posted September 24, 2008 Share #10 Posted September 24, 2008 Yes, I could take the S2 into my own hands yesterday on the Photokina. Including looking through the viewfinder (wow!), manually focussing with the new 70 mm lens and taking pictures. Amazing camera! Regards, Peter. NZDavid Posted September 24, 2008 Share #11 Posted September 24, 2008 Fascinating reading, thank you for such a thorough and detailed report. Kölsch is good stuff, isn't it! Interesting, too, to read about the new upcoming R10.
mhoutman Posted September 24, 2008 Share #12 Posted September 24, 2008 what can be said about the weight ?
tim Posted September 24, 2008 Share #13 Posted September 24, 2008 what can be said about the weight ? the body only is about 1.4 kg the 70mm lens was quite heavy, but comparable to 6x6 lenses - imo it was all in all handy enough for hand held shots. Best regards, Tim
stuny Posted September 24, 2008 Share #14 Posted September 24, 2008 Look at David's pictures (Dale Photo & Digital, then go to his blog on Fotokina). In one the S2 is sitting next to a Nikon D700 -- Very close in size.

The 30 - 90 zoom is about the same size as the Nikon 24 - 70 f2.8.
