Except it appears (if it's true) with auto-focus and a very high MP count that it would easily trump the rumored Nikon - It sounds very intriguing with a bunch of lenses too? Seems like an awful lot for Kaufmann to have pulled off in the short amount he's owned Leica......sounds cool. IF it's true......

Okay, I don't want to be responsible for spoiling the big party, but 'Leica Rumors' says they have the answer. Yes, I know it's a rumor site but isn't that what happens here?

where ? url ?

on leicarumours.com they only thing they talk about is the S2 studio camera 40+mp which is very old news now ????

i don't think you're following this very well.... aside the S2 (which you won't be able to afford in any case) there is another product

I notice those who have posted here the past 10 months that nothing was coming at photokina and blah, blah, blah..leica can't do this, leica can't do that.. they seem quiet now.

Good. Lets see if they post how wrong they were next week.. I will if, all they show is a few m lenses, and the not-new m8.2..

Just went back to Leica Rumors - second entry from the top - talks of email from France - and of a MF camera (like a Mamiya MF) 40MgP, with 10 autofocus lenses for that camera......

Supposedly from a 'dealer'.............It sounds perfectly reasonable and not the S we've been thinking about...... BYTW, I have been a believer in new products from Leica at photokina - it's seems fairly obvious that Kaufmann is VERY serious about bringing Leica to the fore........ In another post his commitment is visibly clear in images of the brand new Leica headquarters - what more does any 'naysayer' need?

I'm not sure what is real and what isn't but, if those '10 lenses' are for a new camera' it would be huge for the world of imaging - Leica coming out with something like that? Maybe we've all been waiting so long that we really can't see the Forest through the trees !!! We better start pinching ourselves to reality - Leica is about to change, and I'll stick my neck out - It will be for the better......the future is almost here.....long live Leica....

Actually the Nikon MF camera is suppose to come next year - March 2009. Remember it is just a rumor :)

Yes the PMA is in March 2009 :D

I would love to see Leica or Nikon coming you with a 40MP (or less) MF rangefinder, I think it could be a wonderful concept, and would give some competitions to MF manufacturers such as Phase One, Hassy, Leaf and Sinar. There is some great digital MF products out there such as the AFDIII/P645, H3, Hy6, etc... but nothing in the MF rangefinder type. I've been thinking about getting into digital MF but I am waiting to see what Photokina brings out before making a decision.

I am really pleased to hear Leica has something up its sleeve; I look forward to seeing it and I am sure it will be impressive. I also hope that there will be several more products announced by other manufacturers. :p

You just look ridiculous :)

Well, you're quite correct, I'm no writer in the pure form of it as an art.

You know ol' President Bush said the other day, "anyone trying to profit from the economic crisis would be caught and persecuted!" I can only hope that what I'm trying say makes more sense than that and that I don't look that ridiculous!!!

Stewpid, maybee, ya sure, yu betcha'......

I don't know what a nice new Leica HQ has to do with resurrecting the company to be an industry leader.
