My dealer told me that it is taking so long because they are ending production of this line and starting with a new model to replace the 5000. Meanwhile I picked up a rumor that Nikon might be quitting the film scanning business altogether. No problem if Nikon is going to release a new line of scanners, but TERRIBLE if they're getting out of the scanner business altogether!! I guess the only thing to do is wait and see. If there are new scanners in the works, we might even hear something at photokina. Either way, they certainly haven't been maintaining their scanner software. Dan blijft er alleen de markt van dure drum scanners en eenvoudige flatbed scanners over. Misschien toch verstandig ergens een gewenste Nikon scanner sneller aan te schaffen (of doorsparen voor een Imacon natuurlijk). Overigens gaat er niets boven een analoge belichter i.c.m. een film om de echte karakteristiek te bewaren. Should I look elsewhere for a film scanner?thank you, Frans I bought one about three months ago, delivery was quoted at 4 weeks but came sooner, I think that sales are low and no stocks are kept in the UK so has to come from Europe or Japan.
