Yashica to M adapter...

It depends which Contax or Yashica is involved.

 

Original Contax rangefinder: adapters exist and work well but good ones tend to be costly because they have to include the rangefinder coupling cam.

 

Contax G: No adapters possible, though with enough skill it's possible to make new focusing mounts that hold the Zeiss optical cells and couple to the Leica rangefinder.

 

Contax S and D and older Yashica SLRs: M42 ("Pentax screw") mount, adapters available.

 

Contax and Yashica SLRs from about 1975: C/Y mount as already described.

 

All these give correct infinity focus (absent manufacturing errors!).

 

Contax N: No adapter that I know of.
