rondeb Posted September 17, 2008 Share #1 Â Posted September 17, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I think the title says it all. Anyone know of an adapter to go FROM Yashica TO Leica M mount? Â I have a few little vintage Yashica jewels I'd really like to try on the M8. Â Thanks, Ron

sdai Posted September 17, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted September 17, 2008 If you're talking about the C/Y mount, here is one you may want to try. Â Contax C/Y lens for Leica M LM adapter M LM M8 M7 M6..
steveclem Posted March 25, 2012 Share #3 Â Posted March 25, 2012 Will this adapter have any effect on sensor imaging/focal plane issues due to the increased distance from the camera body or am I just confusing myself? I've got my eye on a Contax mount lens for my M mount camera.
giordano Posted March 25, 2012 Share #4 Â Posted March 25, 2012 It depends which Contax or Yashica is involved. Â Original Contax rangefinder: adapters exist and work well but good ones tend to be costly because they have to include the rangefinder coupling cam. Â Contax G: No adapters possible, though with enough skill it's possible to make new focusing mounts that hold the Zeiss optical cells and couple to the Leica rangefinder. Â Contax S and D and older Yashica SLRs: M42 ("Pentax screw") mount, adapters available. Â Contax and Yashica SLRs from about 1975: C/Y mount as already described. Â All these give correct infinity focus (absent manufacturing errors!). Â Contax N: No adapter that I know of. Â All these give infinity focus (absent manufacturing errors). steveclem Posted March 25, 2012 Share #5 Â Posted March 25, 2012 It's one of these : Contax Zeiss Distagon 2.8/25mm AE T* and I've seen this on the bay, any good do you think? Much appreciated if you can help, I do have a feeling that I may be looking through the wrong window on this one though!
giordano Posted March 25, 2012 Share #6 Â Posted March 25, 2012 I'm fairly sure that's the right one. Remember that the rangefinder won't work.
earleygallery Posted March 25, 2012 Share #7 Â Posted March 25, 2012 Advertisement (gone after registration) Probably easier and cheaper to buy an old Yashica body.
steveclem Posted March 26, 2012 Share #8 Â Posted March 26, 2012 My mistake on the lens choice, I contacted the owner who confirmed its unsuitability as I'd thought it was too good a price, oh well.
