AlanG Posted September 17, 2008 Share #41 Posted September 17, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I'm pretty impressed with many of the specs, including shooting HD video (working with Live View neither here no there for me) and being able to fire off stills at the same time, let alone the 21 MP. That combination works great for my type of business, although, according to DP Review, Nikon was the first with the D80 to offer HD video capture. Far less impressed with the optical offerings though. Cheers, I assume the only way to shoot video on any of these cameras is by observing the image on the rear LCD. So some kind of optional video viewfinder seems inevitable for any DSLR that shoots video.

stunsworth Posted September 17, 2008 Share #42 Posted September 17, 2008 Seems to me that this new 5D must be the most amazing camera ever made. I thought that was the D3, or was that last week? Though thinking about it a camera with a 5 in the name _has_ to be better than one with a puny 3. Bring on the M9, that's what I say. It'll be better than a D3 and a 5D combined, after all they only add up to 8! <grin>
andybarton Posted September 17, 2008 Share #43 Posted September 17, 2008 You're right Steve. And there was me thinking it was the DMR. I also forgot to use the "irony" smiley
AlanG Posted September 17, 2008 Share #44 Posted September 17, 2008 "New and improved" is a basic marketing concept whether you need it or not. If any of these recently introduced models had been from Leica, there would be much jubilation. So let's see what they come up with.
sdai Posted September 17, 2008 Share #45 Posted September 17, 2008 I must agree with Steve on this one, the R10 is gonna put a M9 to the shame easily. What is a S2? It sounds very primitive.

Anyhow, where's that bloody R10?
