John Thawley Posted September 14, 2008 Share #1 Posted September 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Over at the forum on the Automotive Photographers Network, we run monthly assignments with a specific criteria that the image be shot within the month of the assignment (not cherry picking the portofolio) and that the image be automotive based. We then decide on a theme... usually something whimsical like BLUE, or HEAVY METAL, GLASS.... something hopefully challenging. The goal is to inspire shooting with a purpose, improving technique... and thinking outside the box. This month's theme is Sky's The Limit. The assignment deadline is tomorrow. So, since everyone can vote on the images, I'm not disqualified for my role as owner of the site. When I do participate, I always try to make a point of using my "walk around" camera. Currently, it's the Digilux 3. Last night I drove by the local Bentley dealer and thought to myself, hey.... their prices kind of fit the theme... Sky's The Limit! So, today I ventured back, camera in hand, to see what I could come up with. First discovery was that Bentley's don't have hood ornaments. LOL But, the Jaguar did... and within 10 minutes I had my shot... here's the result. Enjoy.
