Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 Emil

Fieseler Fi 156-C2 Storch

North American P-51D Mustang

All of these aircraft are part of the Flying Heritage Collection Home : The Flying Heritage Collection in greater Seattle. The collection was started by Paul Allen - one of the founders of Microsoft. One unique aspect of the collection is that all of the aircraft are still airworthy/flying. They were flying the Spitfire last weekend (pics on my link below), and next weekend will be flying the Bf 109 Emil.

More details on the Storch and the other aircraft is available on the website Home : The Flying Heritage Collection

I am a pilot and I must admit I wanted to take the Storch for a "drive". It looked like it would be relatively easy to fly, and have excellent short-field characteristics.

I was impressed to see the 109, 190, Storch, etc. in airworthy condition. I too am impressed that Paul Allen is using his vast personal finances to fund a collection from numerous countries involved in WWII.

A link to the backside of the Storch. I didn't post the pic here since it was taken with a Nikon D60.

I was looking at the other Storch photo and I noticed that the Storch in Paul Allen's collection has a gun turret in the back. I thought some might find that interesting to see.
