ijporter Posted September 27, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Following on from my King Parrot thread, this is an Australian Eastern Rosella who was, at that stage a pet. We found her flightless and injured in our front yard and nursed her back to health. Our young daughters named her 'Belle' after 'Beauty and the Beast' and she stayed with us for a year or so until she eloped with a handsome young male Eastern. This photo was taken in out back yard - no cage. It's a pity that the background is dark, but it was early evening and I had to use a small f-stop to retain some depth of field. stuny Posted September 27, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 27, 2006 Beautiful bird, an appealing face, nice details, all enhanced by the black background. We saw a number of these in the hills west and south of Palm Cove, Queensland.
