bobtodrick Posted August 25, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 25, 2008 Yup, the lack of an optical viewfinder would make it a dealbreaker for me. It's odd...one of the most common complaints I have from customers with LCD only cameras is that they would definitely want a viewfinder in their future cameras. This is just more proof that the manufacturers don't listen...THEY KNOW BEST!?
andybarton Posted August 25, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 25, 2008 It's only a 3D computer model, so it could very well be a fake.
sdai Posted August 25, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 25, 2008 It's only a 3D computer model, so it could very well be a fake. It is a fake, the Chinese web page says it's drawn by a Japanese camera forum member on computer.

I quite agree. I'd rather have a smaller LCD (say 1.8" or 2") on a compact camera like the Ricoh GRD or Panasonic LX3 if it means they can then squeeze in a viewfinder on the camera itself. The VF on my GRD keeps getting snagged in my bag.

ALUX Posted August 25, 2008 Share #13 Posted August 25, 2008 images are appearing globally A real Summilux would be a 1.4/21mm. A f.2.4 lens would never bear the Summilux designation. Regards Alex
MJLogan Posted August 25, 2008 Share #14 Posted August 25, 2008 no, they are definitely fakesi know who drew those, and it was months ago Pity the Olympus designs are fakes--that looks like exactly the camera I was hoping to find a couple of years ago, when I first started looking for a digital replacement for my collection of Oly OM-1s. I ended up with the Digilux 3, which is ideal for me in many ways except that it's too darn big. The Panasonic designs look nice as well. (Are those fake, too? I imagine so, given the typo on the Leica lens. ) It will be fun to see how µ4/3 plays out, but it will have to be pretty great to coax me into spending another pot of money--I've sunk over $4,000 into the Digilux 3 and its lenses. (I paid MSRP for the D3 kit and for the 14-150 lens--I guess I'm a sucker! At least I got the 25 mm prime from B&H at a bit of a discount!) I fear the existing PanaLeica 4/3 lenses will feel hugely unbalanced on a small, light µ4/3 body.

daveleo Posted August 25, 2008 Share #16 Posted August 25, 2008 1. they depict pretty much what the micro4/3 format promises (thinner body, smaller lenses) 2. aside from the details mentioned here, if some guy drew this from imagination, then panasonic (and oly) maybe had the same dream .... how much different would the micro4/3 body structure be from what's shown in those images ?? regards

MJLogan Posted August 25, 2008 Share #18 Posted August 25, 2008 This is a hoot--it's like wading through all the fanboy mockups of alleged new macs and iPods over at MacRumors. A few actual leaks do creep into the mix, eventually...

Those "models" are interesting because are the first "3D images" of the Micro 4/3 concept.

Since it shows a 21mm prime lens why would it need a zoom control on the top plate ... ? Pete.
