Hi guys,

I'm currently living in Hanoi (Vietnam) and I'm actually running out of my Ilford chemicals and T-Max to develop my B&W films and papers as well as delta 100 rolls. But the good news is that I'm travelling to Hong Kong in few days, and I'll for sure bring my M6 with 28 ASPH and 90 f4 mm, but I really need to find a shop with B&W equipment. I try to google a little bit in internet, but I found only digital stuff ... (what a suprise!).

So, could anyone suggest a good shop in HK?

Then, since I'll be in the island of technology, I was thinking to buy a film scan, and it should basically be small (since I do travel quite a bit), work well for B&W. Reading in this forum, someone suggested the Reflecta RPS 7200. Any comment? Suggestion?

So, could someone give me some tips on the "ultimate" scanner (small, cheap and performant) and a good shop where to get it inHong Kong.

I hope not to be too off topic here ...

Tom

my recommendation for hong kong is 'photo scientific', 6 stanley st, central hong kong. the owner (too bad i can't remember his name) is a true leicaphile and holds lot of b&w equipment. i don't know if he is the right guy for scanners - but at least he will know where to look out for one - and the places you should avoid.

here's a picture of him ;)

The only two dealers in Hong Kong still stocking chemicals are Photo Scientific as already mentioned and Kowloon Photo in Yaumatei. Photo Scientific is much easier to find for a tourist and only 30 steps from all the bars so that should be an easy choice.
