sliansen Posted August 14, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) After having owned a Bessa R2 for a couple of years, I've come over a Leica camera locally, and I'm tempted. But since I have next to no idea how much these should cost, I was wondering if the price was OK. What I have been offered is a: - Leica M6 (1991 model), black. Normal wear, it seems. No issues. - Leica 35mm Summicron (version 4 - is this good?), made in Germany lens.Nice and clean, it seems. The seller wants 1500 Euros (about $2200) for the set. Is this a decent price? If someone have the time to help, I would appreciate it.
Advertisement Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Hi sliansen, Take a look here First Leica: Is this a good deal?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
stunsworth Posted August 14, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 14, 2008 I'd say the price is about right. I bought my used M6 - body only - in 2001 and paid around $1900 at current exhange rates.
leicagator Posted August 14, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 14, 2008 Do you by coincidence refer to a camera in Heidelberg, Germany? Yes, basically I think it is a good deal. Especially if it is the combo at Foto Kühnel. Best Regards Stefan
andym911 Posted August 14, 2008 Share #4 Posted August 14, 2008 good camera, good lens, good price. andy
earleygallery Posted August 14, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 14, 2008 - Leica 35mm Summicron (version 4 - is this good?) They don't call it the King of Bokeh for nothing!
patashnik Posted August 14, 2008 Share #6 Posted August 14, 2008 Seems good to me. I have an M6 and a "king of bokeh" that I will be putting up for sale, and those are in line with the prices that I have in mind.
fuchs Posted August 14, 2008 Share #7 Posted August 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) My ideal combo. And a very good price, I'd say. On the *Bay the Summicron-IV is getting difficult to find and expenive to pay.

Guest maddoc2003jp Posted August 16, 2008 Share #10 Posted August 16, 2008 Very good lens, the 35mm Summicron-M IV ("King of Bokeh" as Mike Johnston called it) and the M6 is a decent Leica. The price sounds very good, I would go for it, too.
