farnz Posted August 8, 2008 Share #1 Posted August 8, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I've started using Safari browser for Windoze but I can't find a way to post images on the forum. There's no paperclip in the posting window and the Attachments drop-down box contains nothing and does nothing if you click or double-click on it. Please see the screen grab below. (There's only the < > and php buttons under the Attachments drop-down - no paperclip.) I've posted many pictures using IE7 so I kinda know what I'm doing but this one's got me hornswoggled. Yes, I've checked all the posts in the sticky above about posting pictures and, no, there's nothing in it about using Safari for Windoze. I'd really like to use Safari so can anybody kindly tell me what I've missed please? Pete.
Advertisement Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Hi farnz, Take a look here How to post pictures using Safari for Windoze. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
andybarton Posted August 9, 2008 Share #2 Posted August 9, 2008 This is the screen shot from Safari on my Mac. When I click the paperclip. the upload dialog box appears. Click it again and this is what you see
andybarton Posted August 9, 2008 Share #3 Posted August 9, 2008 Same thing in Firefox
farnz Posted August 9, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted August 9, 2008 Thanks for replying, Andy, and I see the same as you do and can post images in the same way with IE7 and Firefox. Unfortunately, as you can see in my screenshot below, there isn't a paper clip icon in Safari for Windoze Here's a screenshot as I'm writing this message (although I have to change to IE7 to attach it) and the position where the paperclip would be is replaced with the 'Smilies' drop down list. (Not sure why because smilies can be selected from the panel at the right.) This screenshot reveals the menu bar below the Attachments drop down box and ... no paperclip. Clicking on the Attachments drop down box does nothing. (I've allowed pop-ups and that doesn't make any difference.) Pete. andybarton Posted August 9, 2008 Share #5 Posted August 9, 2008 On my Mac I have "Block pop up windows" checked. I am surprised that the Attachments drop down doesn't open up the dialog box. On the Mac, the Smilies button is there, but as an icon, not text, as is the "Colors" button, of course. Sorry I can't help any further. I only have a PC at work, and that's locked down tighter than a gnat's whatsit, so I can't install Safari on that. Someone else here may be able to help. Steve U? Andreas? spylaw4 Posted August 14, 2008 Share #7 Posted August 14, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Bump. You could always try asking a question Here on the Safari for Windows Discussion Forum. Other than that I can only suggest using Firefox instead - Safari 3.1.2 is still a bit "buggy" even on the Mac.
