Can someone give me a quick summary on the digital M, in terms of any problems and whether an M9 is around the corner. I still shoot film Ms, but a recent bill to develop 20 rolls nearly sent me through the roof. It was mostly my fault for specifying 5x7 prints, which in my area cost 5x a 4x6 print. Just a brain dead moment, because I haven't been shooting too much film in the last two years. But it really has made me think maybe its time to go digital.

Thanks.

Steve, altho we may get a surprise in the Fall (photokina), most posters here think a digital R and some new lenses are in the offing.

As an M8 user, I would say you can't go wrong with the camera. In conjunction with Phase One-Capture One the workflow is pretty swift.

You have M lenses, right?

Steve -

Somebody posted a link to an interview with Dr. Kaufman. The interview indicated that they were going to continue developing the M8, and not replace it anytime soon with an M9. He also mentioned that they would give hints to the future of the R system, but not to expect a camera at Photokina, but to expect other exciting news.
