stuny Posted September 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2006 Tony - Well neames, well seen and well executed. Very nice use of light and dark, nice tones, and I like how the woman is framed by the trees.
gabek Posted September 21, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 21, 2006 Tony - Nice tonal values and excellent composition. Did you take this as a B&W or change to grayscale in PS? Did you use auto white-balance or adjust or use a 18% gray card? I have not yet done much B&W with my Digilux-2, but this is encouraging. Thanks, Gabe
Guest flatfour Posted September 21, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 21, 2006 Gabe - Thanks for your kind comments. I'm a digital novice and still use film for B&W normally. This pic I took in colour jpeg 400ISO and changed to grayscle in PS then RGB and added 2 red and deducted 2 yellow. Hope this helps.
gabek Posted September 22, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 22, 2006 This pic I took in colour jpeg 400ISO and changed to grayscle in PS then RGB and added 2 red and deducted 2 yellow. Tony - That's helpful and encouraging information, thanks. I haven't done much B&W with my Digilux but this gives me some incentive. Knowing you used ISO 400 is also good news to me, as I have been reluctant to move much beyond 200. While the image doesn't look noisy or lossy, it does have a captivating texture.
