Perspectics Posted July 3, 2008 Share #3 Posted July 3, 2008 The pictures are an excellent example of why one should never use autofocus! There's a ton of pictures where a shitty, little flower in the front is tack sharp and the motive is totally blurred. Wouldn't have happened w/o autofocus. Nice otherwise. There's a ton of pictures where a shitty, little flower in the front is tack sharp and the motive is totally blurred. Wouldn't have happened w/o autofocus. Nice otherwise. I do not see any link with auto focus, you have lost me there- I am sure there is some comment regarding out of focus where the flower is in sharp relief to the nude. Personally I like that effect very much in the photographer work. That is not to say that that I don't like to see female form in sharp focus, I can assure you I do. What I would like to know is how one gets assignments to shoot beautiful women in or out of focus
Perspectics Posted July 4, 2008 Share #6 Posted July 4, 2008 Ehm, my comment about auto-focus was nothing but sarcasm. I do personally like to see people in the nude, especially beautiful women... go figure. Now, the photos are clearly on the artistic side and the photographer chose to have a flower in focus and mimic the shape of the blurred woman in the background. Absolutely intended. I'm just mad enough to wish otherwise. With regards to women to photograph - usually I need to buy them dinner for several years when I want photos in the nude. A friend of mine took a course, and I'm considering that, too. Problem is that one needs a portfolio to be convincing. Hen egg problem. -> Course. rsh Posted July 4, 2008 Share #7 Posted July 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Autofocus has it place in photography, namely sports. It is wrong to disparage photographers using autofocus. Everyone makes choices on what works for them.
