stuny Posted September 20, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 20, 2006 Ian - You must have been up in that observational tower (I've forgotten its name). Very dramatic and sharp, and you were fortunate to catch a clear, crisp night.

Very dramatic and sharp, and you were fortunate to catch a clear, crisp night. I think the Port Authority tower is at Town's Place, more to the left. My guess is the shot was taken from the observation windows in the bar of the Shangrila Hotel? Bob.

ijporter Posted September 20, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 20, 2006 Thanks everyone, The shot was taken from a board room in a building near the Shangri-La hotel. Stuart may have been thinking of the Sydney Tower, because the Sydney Port Authority tower is to the west of the Harbour Bridge. However the photo opportunities from this building was better than that from the Sydney Tower. I'm not sure of the exposure, because I used it on auto +2stops for night shots. I don't think it was as long as 8 seconds - more like 4. I had to be very careful about reflections from within the thick glass.
