carylwithay Posted June 28, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 28, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I picked up this lens for $5 at a thrift shop. It looks in good condition and seems to fit the M8 except that it has a screw and not bayonet attaching method. Anyone ever hear of this lens or try it? I can get a screw/bayonet adapter for under $75. Do you think it is worth the gamble? Caryl
Advertisement Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 Hi carylwithay, Take a look here ever tried Soligor 135mm 1:3.5 telephoto lens. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
don_panko Posted June 28, 2008 Share #2 Posted June 28, 2008 I bought an old ARCO 135mm with Leica M mount and found that it creates pictures that are very different from extra sharp modern lenses. For me it duplicates the look and feel of pictures taken in the 60s which is when I started in photography and when the Soligor brand was popular if you were a student with a tight budget. One of the benefits of an M8 is that it can accept these old lenses and recreate pictures from the past and for that I like the lens. I would get the mount and add the Soligor lens to your kit. carylwithay Posted June 28, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted June 28, 2008 Thank you for that. I did not know it was a budget lens but I have decided to get the adapter and play with it. Caryl
