leicavirgin2 Posted June 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted June 18, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Greetings! I have come across a 50mm "Summitar" f2.0 "M" mount. It is collapsible like the ELMAR, "M". I have not seen any "M" mount Summitar's around only in the older Screw-Mount. It DOES NOT have an adapter. It is a "pure" lens. I read, on another board related to LEITZ/LEICA, that LEITZ in 1946 0r 1947 made a few of these Summitars for test on the then new & upcoming M3 which I own, (SS). Could this be true? It is chrome, not black. Any advise on this post would be most welcome. Thanks in advance for reading this post and hopefully responding. luigi bertolotti Posted June 18, 2008 Share #3 Posted June 18, 2008 I've seen only the 937471 in Lager's ... Summitar "star" (*), bayonet mount, but not collapsible... a sort of prototype of uncollapsible Summicron...
brianv Posted June 19, 2008 Share #4 Posted June 19, 2008 Photo's and a serial number would be helpful. Someone could have taken a Summitar optics module and mounted it to a Summicron-M base? I've not done this, but it looks possible.
lars_bergquist Posted June 19, 2008 Share #5 Posted June 19, 2008 Are you sure that what you have is not a regular thread-mount Summitar with a bayonet ring? The old man from the Age of the Summitar
