Dan States Posted June 6, 2008 Share #2 Posted June 6, 2008 For 93K I'd expect them to wipe the goobers off the poor thing. It's filthy!
luigi bertolotti Posted June 7, 2008 Share #3 Posted June 7, 2008 JUST for curios (unprobable I bid... )... which auction site ?
luigi bertolotti Posted June 8, 2008 Share #4 Posted June 8, 2008 I've found... Photo Arsenal seems to have a number of items coming directly from inside the factory... I saw a Telyt 200 for direct mount...a Noctilux 1,2 chrome (seems they say it's the ONE, but Van Hasbroek published another with different "prototype" number).. the IIIf for sale is really a famous item, s/n 500.000... donated to Dr. Ernst Leitz II; ok surely of historical interest... no comment on the proposed price... given the other items for sale and the management of the offer, one can guess that Leica is trying to evaluate how much they cash in from the factory "treasures"... a legitimate try, after all; curios only that an item that (for what is known) belonged to Leitz family is for sale together with items that were pre-production or prototypes (btw, would be of interest to see how that chrome Noctilux should perform.. the machining of the aspherical elements was a all-new technology, at that times... maybe a prototype could give some surprise). FotoABC Posted June 8, 2008 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2008 Then, this iiif should be more valuable than the iiig Olive (eBay item no.270238890204) which bidding was ended two days ago (on 06-07/2008) at 55,500 Euros (87k USD). Claude
