Dear all,

Here is another question.

I had purchased RRS 45 plate to use it with bigger head (400/560/800) of Modul system but am not sure how to fit it in as there are more than two wholes in the tripod collar and I could screw it in only one of the wholes with the bushing. Can you please suggest me the correct way?

Thanking you all.

I don t remember having this problem and I have the RRS plate on my Modul system 400/560/800 head. Since its at my other house I can t look, but , I am sure I used just the one screw into the smaller hole(with the bushing). the fit was perfect and its doesn t slide around at all.

Thanks for your reply. To reconfirm, you used only one screw and it is firm, risk free? I am asking just because this is my first time to use RRS plate on it, no experience.

Also, the plate comes with two screws and I thought I should use both screws.

Thanks again.

Since my module is in Florida I can t test it....but I am sure it was just one screw. I use my telyts on a monopod and carry the lens on my shoulder(with the strap still over my neck just in case) . I am always careful with the weight and how I carry it(I use the handle as well) ....this isn t an everyday lens for me. Maybe someone else has tried this?

One hole in the lens will be 1/4" thread, the other 3/8" thread. If you can put a screw in both, it will be more secure. You may have to put a 3/8" to 1/4" bushing into the 3/8" hole so you can use two 1/4" screws. I am not familiar with your plate, but if it just has one long slot and it is long enough to span the two threaded holes in the lens, use two screws.

On my 400mm F2.8 APO Telyt, I have been using a shorter plate and just one screw. With a longer plate, the length of the plate can apply leverage or bend if you do not screw it down with two screws.
