Guest Ron Kennett Posted May 26, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 26, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I understand that Luigi can produce a full leather case (ie not a half case) for the Digilux 3. Has anyone bought one and what is your reaction?
Advertisement Posted May 26, 2008 Posted May 26, 2008 Hi Guest Ron Kennett, Take a look here Digilux 3 Leather case a la Luigi. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
normanf Posted May 26, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 26, 2008 Its a beautiful case. If you like a handmade case, then Luigi can make one for the Digilux 3/Panasonic L1. Of course, there are more affordable alternatives available.
bill Posted May 26, 2008 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2008 Ron, I have two Luigi cases, on my IIIc and M2. They are not the cheapest, but are the best. They truly show that you gets wot yer pays for. Regards, Bill

dugby Posted May 27, 2008 Share #5 Posted May 27, 2008 What are the more affordable alternatives please? I have two cases: a) the Leica Neoprene, which is quite thin, and offers minimal protection, and useful whilst carrying the camera on one's shoulder inside a coat in cold-climates or thief territory. It is convenient to access the camera quickly...Approx USD$50.00 the Crumpler Zieube, is a better padded, and more water resistant case than the Neoprene. Though slightly bigger than the Neoprene. This one is more suitable for travelling around for a few days and can hold 2 batteries. It is difficult to purchase now, as it's not common, but is 1/3 the price of the Leica Neoprene case. It is a perfect fit for an L1/D3. It took me about 1 year to find one off ebay and Amazon, can be bought for $20. This is my second Crumpler, who make probably the most useful range of camera and messenger bags see <www.crumpler.com.au> and of course another great Aussie product... I also have a Crumpler Cucumberumba, which will take a D3/L1 with 14-50 lens plus 25mm. or the body+50-150 kit lens (Its just a longer version of the Zieube.). Got this one off ebay for $22. The nice thing about Crumpler cases, is that they don't scream "Camera-Camera, thieves queue here"

The ones for cameras are 4 millon dollar home or 5 millon dollar home. backpacks and other bags for cameras are available too. Crumpler is a great bags manufacturer. Looks like as a casual bag. Mine is 4 millon dollar and was very useful for my L1+14-50, cleaning kit, 5 SD cards and some filters for a 1 month trip in Europe. In Argentina is expensive to buy it cause there isn't dealer and we'd import from USA.

Hello, yes you are correct, the models I mentioned, Crumpler Zieube and Cucumberumba do not exist on the Crumpler website as they are no longer sold there. I did however buy these off ebay. I wish I had my D3/L1 or even D2 when I visited Buenos Aires in 2000. Very pleasant country you have, BA looks very similar to Melbourne - Australia.
