Advertisement Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Hi the warrior, Take a look here Hello, one cuestion to leica 50 summicron close up attachement. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
masjah Posted May 20, 2008 Share #2 Posted May 20, 2008 I've used the Elpro 1 and Elpro 2 (as well as the Macro Adapter) with the 50 Summicron R (which I presume is what you are talking about). I've had good results with all of these (though I can't post because I use film, and don't always have everything scanned when I have my films processed. Obviously, results are not quite as good as with a dedicated macro lens (not qute as good at the edges) but still very creditable, and the Summicron seems quite tolerant of being pushed about in this way. The Elpro 2 is a two element achromat and is beautifully made (in the old fashioned Leitz tradition) but is no longer available new. The Elpro and 50/2 give a magnification range of 1:3.9 to 1:2.6. When used also in combination with the Macro Adapter you get 1:1.2 to 1:1.04. Obviously depth of field is very limited indeed. There is one available second-hand for £25 (as well as a Macro Adapter) at Untitled Document (though I've got to declare an interest in that I know who is selling it on commission through this dealer). Hope this helps.
