philipotto Posted October 3, 2006 Share #21 Posted October 3, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) With the 4/3rd adapter Leica-R + Leica APO TELYT-R 800MM F/5.6 + the the Leica APO-EXTENDER-R 2x, you would have a 3200MM kit that would be much more managable than the Zeiss 1700MM F/4. Leica: http://www.leica-camera.us/photography/r_system/lenses/516.html Zeiss: http://www.dpreview.com/news/0610/06100101zeiss1700f4.asp Leica 1, Zeiss 0. Leica wins yet again. Getting rather boring really.

Bob Ross Posted October 4, 2006 Share #22 Posted October 4, 2006 With the 4/3rd adapter Leica-R + Leica APO TELYT-R 800MM F/5.6 + the the Leica APO-EXTENDER-R 2x, you would have a 3200MM kit that would be much more managable than the Zeiss 1700MM F/4. Your Leica combo would be 3200mm f/11, due to the 2X TC and with a 4/3rds camera + adapter operating at working aperture, it would be next to impossible to manually focus accurately. I have done a combo resulting in 2000mm f/16 with an E-1 and it was far from practical. Bob
