wlaidlaw Posted May 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted May 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I spotted this Provençal Viper in my garden this morning, with its triangular head and diamond markings down the back. Unfortunately, I was not quick enough getting the M8 out and putting an Elmarit-M 90/2.8 lens on, to catch it making love to my bright yellow garden hose (must have thought it was some exotic foreign lady snake). This is the biggest one I have seen yet at about 1 meter long and 2cm in diameter. The smaller ones at about 50 cm long and the diameter of your little finger, tend to come into the house in autumn for warmth. You do NOT want to get bitten by one of these, no matter how small. You may have as short as 30 minutes to get anti-venom before your kidneys pack up. Wilson
