JPEG or TIFF to print

I have JPEG files scanned by the lab, each is around 6 Mo.

I tweak them a bit in CS2, then save.

When saving, CS2 shrinks them to around 600 ko, which I don't want.

For the printing lab of my client, I want to give them the bigger files,

but no matter how I try (even by resampling files from 240 higher),

I get smallish files.

The solution would be to save them back as TIFF, apparently.

Another way ?
