vertekijker Posted April 15, 2008 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) The Guimet Museum is a bit off the beaten track but a place well worth visiting when in Paris. The building itself - inside as well as outside - is very photogenic. It has one of the finest collections of Asian art. In the first picture you see the silhouette of the Guimet's famous ginkgo tree in front of the entrance to the museum. The Guimet is one of my favorite places in Paris. Truly a gem. You normally have to pay an entrance fee, but because of some experiment, eight top museums in France - the Guimet among them - have been chosen to be free to the public till the month of June. ------------------------- Frans (M8 - Tri-Elmar 28,35,50)
Advertisement Posted April 15, 2008 Posted April 15, 2008 Hi vertekijker, Take a look here Paris, Musée Guimet. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
luigi bertolotti Posted April 15, 2008 Share #2 Posted April 15, 2008 Guimet is really a gem... I was there 3 or 4 times in the years and anytime, its way of immersing you in oriental art & spirit has always fascinated me: and as you have experienced, there are light and subjects which make it quite possible to take good images freehand... Do you know the Museè Cernuschi ? Another fine oriental museum, little, in a splendid location of Paris (Parc Monceau).
