elansprint72 Posted September 12, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2006 Nice to have you back ashore, I'm surprised that, in the days of GPS, the use of these ancient instruments is still taught. Cheers, Pete.
svenning Posted September 13, 2006 Author Share #4 Posted September 13, 2006 Nice to have you back ashore, I'm surprised that, in the days of GPS, the use of these ancient instruments is still taught. Cheers, Pete. Dear Pete, In case every thing fails on board - then we still have the magnetic compass, the chronometer watch, the nautical almanac and the sextant - and we will then be able to navigate the ship back to safe port :-)) all the best - Svenning, Denmark. MrEd Posted October 2, 2006 Share #6 Posted October 2, 2006 Besides the blue cast a little overpowering. Am I the only one seeing this? Everything else is good. Thanks Svenning. Regards, Ed. .

Everything else is good. Thanks Svenning. Regards, Ed. . Dear Ed, On ther day of shooting the picture all the surroundings were blue - the sky, the North Atlantic Ocean and even the funnel of the vessel. I have attached another sextant picture from the serie - where you can see the white star on the funnel. I do not see any blue-cast on the white star :-)) All the best - Svenning, Denmark.
