Ah -- I forgot that you live not too far from Lambertville and New Hope. This is one of the more stirring steam train shots I've sen in quite some time. I like the light and angle, as well as the play of the track geometry.

Nice take on the Ivyland Railroad. I've been waiting to catch this engine crossing the bridge adjacent to Stockton Ave. That's got to be a great shot for the Fall. Here' an old take on the engine, probably 4 or 5 years ago. Cold, wet day, and using a Nikon 5700 I think.

Hi Neal,

 

That shot really accentuates the "heavy metal" aspect of these steam locomotives. I like the station shots that blend environment with the symbolic power that these machines represent.

 

I did some shots at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, but found those hangar pictures were purely documentary. Great for tourism promotion, but somehow lacking real feeling.
