stuny Posted September 12, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 12, 2006 Neal - Ah -- I forgot that you live not too far from Lambertville and New Hope. This is one of the more stirring steam train shots I've sen in quite some time. I like the light and angle, as well as the play of the track geometry. lambroving Posted September 12, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 12, 2006 Neal, Nice catch. So do they have #60 back on the tracks as well? Where was your M3? Which station is this, BTW?
nealf Posted September 13, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 13, 2006 William, 60 is still in the shed in pieces on the BR&W in Ringoes NJ. This shot was taken in New Hope Pa. on the NH&I which runs from New Hope to Lahaska in PA, we have two steam rail roads around here. Neal
echogallery Posted September 13, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 13, 2006 Neal, Nice take on the Ivyland Railroad. I've been waiting to catch this engine crossing the bridge adjacent to Stockton Ave. That's got to be a great shot for the Fall. Here' an old take on the engine, probably 4 or 5 years ago. Cold, wet day, and using a Nikon 5700 I think. Gary
nealf Posted September 13, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted September 13, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Gary, Nice mood in this shot, I like it! Here's a closer shot of just 40, neat little engine. Neal
echogallery Posted September 13, 2006 Share #8 Posted September 13, 2006 Hi Neal, That shot really accentuates the "heavy metal" aspect of these steam locomotives. I like the station shots that blend environment with the symbolic power that these machines represent. I did some shots at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania, but found those hangar pictures were purely documentary. Great for tourism promotion, but somehow lacking real feeling.
