uulrich Posted September 10, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 10, 2006 A pity - everything went south since the colonies got their independence. ;-) Anyway, sometimes they took what they got. Kidding aside - I like this shot. The framed picture, the boxes and certainly he, who fiddles with the bonnet. Well done. Thumbs up. Will the R&W 2007 calender be in the shelfs in time? Guest agnoo Posted September 10, 2006 Share #11 Posted September 10, 2006 Rule # 1 down there - Don't mention the war. :-) Rule #2 - IF THEY mention the war, just mention the blood relationship of the house of Hannover and the Royal family.
lambroving Posted September 10, 2006 Share #12 Posted September 10, 2006 Rule #2 - IF THEY mention the war, just mention the blood relationship of the house of Hannover and the Royal family. Hmmm... Don't believe I'd try that either. The Lady Saye, whom you met, is bigger than you and would probably clobber you! elansprint72 Posted September 10, 2006 Share #14 Posted September 10, 2006 "Your friend and Plantagenet" William: are you of French descent? Nice shot Ron; those shops absolutely rely upon non-UK residents for the bulk of their turnover these days. There are probably more "English Gentlemen" (sartorially speaking) in Rhode Island, than in Gloucestershire and Shropshire combined! Cheers, Pete (Westmerian, not English)
luciz Posted September 10, 2006 Share #15 Posted September 10, 2006 Great shot! Really a Leica image. Thanks for sharing Luciano

Cheers, Pete (Westmerian, not English) Pete, East Frank or West Frank? My history is a little spotty, but I believe the people you think of as French were mainly living in the south when ole Bill came over in 1066... Wingfield is one of my family names. As for Lock, I was introduced to them by a gent with 7,000 acres in the New Forest. The MD tells me that 20% of their business is with Americans, but the rest is mostly solidly English. Lock is NOT Thomas Pink!
Guest agnoo Posted September 10, 2006 Share #17 Posted September 10, 2006 For those of you, who want to know the location, Prince Charles is living at the end of the street. So when you visit him, have a look in the shop - maybe he´ll join you Tell them, William Lamb from America sends you! Welcome, dear visitor! lambroving Posted September 10, 2006 Share #18 Posted September 10, 2006 Ron, He is living just next door (left) in Clarence House but has offices in St. James's Palace in your picture. Wish you had got a picture of that 400-year-old green enamel on the front door... James Lock - Homepage
