Top 5 most compact R lenses.

Surely, the "...sneakiest R-outfit" is an M-outfit...

Regards,

Bill

I have been using both this past week - I have come to the conclusion that using an M, as a glasses wearer, is a pain in the arris.

The 28 Elmarit-R (ROM version) is around the same size as the 50 and not too heavy. The 90 Summaron is a fabulous lens (even an older one), but that does pack some weight on your shoulder.

My top 5 list:

1) 35mm Elmarit-R f2.8

2) 50mm Summicron-R f2.0

3) 28mm Elmarit-R f2.8 (first version)

4) 35mm Summicron-R f2.0

5) 60mm Makro-Elmarit-R f2.8

For those who want the sneakiest R outfit...

The typical 'poor man's snap shot beginners stuff' - that's for sure.... :-)

I throw in my 24mm /2.8 R, looks bulky but actually it isn't.

Buy the outfit that suits you best and fits within your budget. No matter the speed of the Leica lenses you own, all are of execllent optical quality.

Ultimately, it is the photographer that creates the image thru his or her vision. The camera and the optics are nothing more than a tool. The Leica may or may not be the better tool, depending on the needs and wants of the individual photographer. Using slower lenses, or using Nikon or Cannon equipment does not make you less a photgrapher. If fact some of the greatest imgaes in the world were created with Non Leica Gear.

I have used Leica for over 36 Years, but most of my stuff is old, M5's and SL2s. I do own the newer M Lenses, but my SL2 lenses date back to the 70's and 80's.

I aplaud the Compact R Outfit.

Forgetting the 19mm just take that stupid lens hood off. LOL seriously compared to the next best lens in that range the Zeiss 21mm the 19 looks like a midget

I can't use my 24mm w/out lens hood. I almost every time get the 'flare'. I have an old 24mm though.
