Not that familiar with all versions of Leica's, but were there M7's made w/o the red dot and "M7" label on the front? If not, how did you change this?

...a la carte program provides option to omit red dot (duplicating the mp approach), in addition to other customized features...

...how does one get a leica "black" dot (earlier picture)?

Only a used camera is a good camera, very nice!

More than 650 roll of film (38-39 exposure / rol = 24.700 pictures) I shoot with this M7 in

1 year and 8 months

This is a almost everyday used camera and I like the Leica M Ever Ready Case.

I don't use it as a sledgehammer :D

You can always see wether the rewind handle of the M7 has been used or not.

It's scratched  when it has been used.

Bottomside of the camera is scratched by the basicplate.

Old DX contacts are replaced by optical readers, because of heavy use !

I do love my M7. It has been a regular, if not constant companion for over five years now. In that time, it has travelled to Vienna, San Francisco, Kauai, Venice, Amalfi, Positano, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Tobago, Prague (three times) and Seville. Don't be surprised to see it in Krakow in October :D

It wears a Rapidgrip and a SLING, and spends most of it's time living in a LowePro S&F pouch 30 on my belt. I bought it new after two M6's and although it has been followed by my M2, IIIc and IID, it still has a special place in my affections (and my travels).

Here wearing a Canon 50mm f1.2:

The ultimate travelling camera with it's "normal" lens, a 50mm f2.8 Elmar-M

...and of course doing duty as a doorstop...

Regards,

Bill
