glenerrold,

I don't expect to be enamoured by the feel and handling of a Canon DSLR, but given the options available for using R lenses, I'll take some bad with the good.

I read the Pebble site, and the current 28 and 35 lux which Robert James use(d) are marked No in the 5D column: that's No as in no matter what 5D and no matter what's done to the kit, it just won't work. However it doesn't say if that's limited to 100% work: maybe a fit can be acheived but for instance not focus out to infinity.

On adapters, have you tried happypagehk's? They're delivered coded specifically for each lens' focal length and max aparture and supposedly enable as reliable metering as with Canon EF-lenses, and of course AF-confirm.

I believe the Peeble Place list refers to MIRROR CLEARANCE issues . There were a number of threads over at Fred Miranda s forum about shaving the mirror. You will also find some references to Son s adapters..he used to shave mirrors for about $300...I elected not to shave my mirror. I don t think you will have infinity focus problems with either the 28 or the 35 R lenses ....its the 15 or the newer 19 that are issues. The Zeiss 21 and 28 were very popular and easily affected by the adapter thickness. Happytalk s adapters are chipped and we generally accepted as excellent quality by the FM participants....I glued the chip on my exiting adapters . I also started with a number of the least expensive R lenses ..the 35 summicron, the 60 macro and the 90 elmarit and got excellent results . Even the older 19 which worked without modification was great .
