Sandokan Posted September 7, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 7, 2006 Good exposure - and the lighting gives him a menacing look.
vic vic Posted September 7, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted September 7, 2006 ha ha, no he is not harming at all :-))) ya - i love this photo too, we saw each other... hi.. hello.. and just took his pic with his beautiful cool shirt :-)
Sandokan Posted September 7, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 7, 2006 I just saw only the bottom portion of the photo - with his hands. You could actually print it in negative and one hand would be white and the other black, but with a black shirt. I try here... vic vic Posted September 7, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 7, 2006 ha ha ravi- there is a process called - sabatier and solarization in b/w darkroom printings. well those kind of results are common more or less :-))))
Sandokan Posted September 7, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 7, 2006 mine was a simple invert - his original hands were white and black in the sun and shade and i wondered if there was another photo there by putting in the negative image. It looks interesting - but not good
Guest imported_stefan_r Posted September 8, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 8, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) the face in the dark, the shirt overexposed ..... give him light in the face. regards
vic vic Posted September 8, 2006 Author Share #8 Posted September 8, 2006 @ ravi - u try to play with curves in photoshop and u will have far more intresting results :-))) @ stfan... ya stefan, i know what u mean, on the full monitor it has different look at all (even if the face is on the dar side of tonality and sirt very bright like has its own luminosity jumping out). i have just converted it to gamma 2.2 and resized.. dont have patance to adjust and fine tune the small once again :-( :-) this is a fast "proof scan", but the print in the darkrrom will be something like that anyway. albertwang Posted September 8, 2006 Share #9 Posted September 8, 2006 I think that he reminds me of Boito's opera Mefistoele quite a bit. The devil's grin eh? The upward lighting is very fascinating... gives him a sense of the spotlight for sure.
Guest imported_stefan_r Posted September 8, 2006 Share #10 Posted September 8, 2006 excuse me Victor, I see only dark black holes instead of eyes....
vic vic Posted September 8, 2006 Author Share #11 Posted September 8, 2006 hi stefan i will make a scan from the print and close up on the eyes when the print will be done :-)))) just checked out the impression side by side with the scanned image that i have in iPhoto library and the little exported after gamma and resize.. u r rite, more care is needed if u want to make ABOUTt the same impression on both cases at least on native monitor. saying this, i dont mean that the face is bright of course. it is clearly visible with punchy contrast in the eyes but as if the face is in shadowed area of course :-)
