JHAG Posted March 7, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I shot a show tonight with both my M7 and M8. As I'm experimenting a lot with the M8 since 2 weeks, I did not use my M7 until then. I had a strange surprise : after the first 10 shits, the shutter release was a bit slow to cock back into position. In fact, it remained depressed one or two times. I had to work back and forth once or twice with the switch on/off lever to get it back up. After that, it worked smoothly. What am I to do — if anything ? nobbylon Posted March 7, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 7, 2008 hahahahaha, on a more serious note take it in and get the lubricant replaced on the shutter release mechanism.
JHAG Posted March 7, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted March 7, 2008 hahahahaha, on a more serious note take it in and get the lubricant replaced on the shutter release mechanism. I'd rather not take it in for that… What if I don't ?

JHAG Posted March 7, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted March 7, 2008 In fact, it has not reproduced again, except when I screw on it the Tom Arahamson release — which I used much. Whit the Abrahamson, the shutter release don't budge, it remains cocked up as if it were blocked. Without the Abrahamson, it appears to work normally. JHAG Posted March 8, 2008 Author Share #8 Posted March 8, 2008 In fact, shutter release remained stuck twice today. I had to pull it up to re-cock it in the right position. My Leica dealer told me about the spring release which might be in for a replacement, but advised a little dust blowing before — though I was always very thorough no letting dust and dirt in these areas. Is there a way to avoid the shipping to Solms ?
JHAG Posted March 8, 2008 Author Share #9 Posted March 8, 2008 Later the same day, the same characters (the cocky:cool: M7 and the photographer) I changed film, blowed a little around the release, shot blank 10 times with no film in the box, loaded a brand new Neopan 400… and there it goes, firing like a stallion… Before that, it was Tri-X. Maybe not his kind of all-bran anymore…
