stunsworth Posted March 3, 2008 Share #2 Â Posted March 3, 2008 Hi Ben, I use iView, but I process the M8 images with the Adobe DNG converter. Â This allows the user to select a full sized embedded Jpeg and iView (or the new Microsoft version) can then process the images.
richam Posted March 3, 2008 Share #3 Â Posted March 3, 2008 Started using Lightroom recently. Excellent image management as well as processing. You can get a 30 day free trial from Adobe.
lemalk Posted March 3, 2008 Share #4 Â Posted March 3, 2008 I'm using iPhoto and Lightroom at the same time. Â Lightroom seems to choke when you hit a certain number of photos and starts to freak out. Â I'm also testing Aperture 2 on my work machine and it is much more resource-intensive than Lightroom or iPhoto. Â Picasa on the PC is supposed to be pretty solid, but I haven't tried it. Could you please elaborate? What issues are you facing?  Cheers,

MPerson Posted March 4, 2008 Share #7  Posted March 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Ben, I use iView, but I process the M8 images with the Adobe DNG converter. This allows the user to select a full sized embedded Jpeg and iView (or the new Microsoft version) can then process the images.  Same here. All my RAW files, including scans, are converted to DNG's - hopefully making them future proof. I still use iView Pro and I am more than happy.  I declined Microsoft's offer of the move to the new product after they took over iView.
mgcd Posted March 4, 2008 Share #8 Â Posted March 4, 2008 when i drag my leica digilux 3 raw images into iView media they don't show up. Â I can only speculate that the Digilux 3 raw files *may* not be supported. Perhaps you can check to see whether the MS update now provides this. d_lague Posted March 7, 2008 Share #11 Â Posted March 7, 2008 I want to learn more about PHOTO MECHANIC. Sounds very interesting.....I looked a website. Â What more can you tell us?
Jeffry Abt Posted March 7, 2008 Share #12 Â Posted March 7, 2008 Photo Mechanic is very simple and yet useful software. It's a browser and an efficient way to catalog and name thousands of images. It is not primarily used to edit images; but rather, it is to be used in conjunction with software like PhotoShop, etc.
