dlove5 Posted March 3, 2008 Share #1 Posted March 3, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Is it easier to load film in some LTM models than others? I hadn't used my IIIa in quite some time until the other day. I forgot I was able to load the film in it just by sliding it in. No need to cut the film, open the shutter, or any of the other tricks usually associated with loading a Barnack. My IIIg always requires extra assistance. I think my IIIf does as well, but I haven't used it lately. Just curious if I am lucky with my IIIa or if there is a real reason.

luigi bertolotti Posted March 3, 2008 Share #2 Posted March 3, 2008 I do not know if there is a real technical reason... but it's the same for me: I always go straight when load my IIIc, I often fail, and must pay much more attention, with my IIIf... a mistery for me
bill Posted March 3, 2008 Share #3 Posted March 3, 2008 I do not know if there is a real technical reason... but it's the same for me: I always go straight when load my IIIc, I often fail, and must pay much more attention, with my IIIf... a mistery for me I suspect there are also a couple of other factors at play. The film stock may have an influence - I always find Fuji has less kinks in the leader than Kodak, for some strange reason. The other factor may be the degree of wear in the camera's innards. If there is more "play", there may be more "room to maneuvere" Just some idle speculation Regards, Bill
