marc_dufour Posted September 5, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 5, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) This man was walking on the side of the road, with his wife and daughter, both carrying grass bundles. I asked if I could take pictures, and they accept but, a little suspicious and threatened, they clearly wondered why I was interested in it. R 6.2, Elmarit 2.8/100, Velvia 100. Guest chriisi Posted September 5, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 5, 2006 i like it... the colors, especially the red, are great.. what would be the point over the "i":more light in his eyes..
stuny Posted September 5, 2006 Share #3 Posted September 5, 2006 marc - Very nice -- No wonder you stopped him. Nice light, colors, focus, bokeh and framing. His typical Rajasthani turban is more intricate than most.

marc_dufour Posted September 5, 2006 Author Share #5 Posted September 5, 2006 Christopher. About the "i" point, I'm agree with you. This is the problem with the available light... But the biggest one, as you can see, is the poor aspect of his eyes: apart the evident cataract in his leftside one, both were bloodshot ones. About the red: Although the bright colors are omnipresent in the women dressing, (specially the scarlet red, for sarees, in Rajastan), in the men's case, this color seems reserved for farmers turban, complement of their white pants and long shirts. If you see a group of them, all are wearing this same outfit. Stuart, Of course, I've seen other turbans quite elaborate, and this one was a little... untidy. This poor man was really tired, later what I suppose a long working day in the fields. Albert and guys, thanks for your time and comments ;-) Marc
harmsr Posted September 5, 2006 Share #6 Posted September 5, 2006 Mark, Great capture. (Color, pose, strange eyes, everything.) Best, Ray
marc_dufour Posted September 5, 2006 Author Share #7 Posted September 5, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thanks a lot, Ray. I'm glad you like it. The intensity of his sight and his honorable bearing (despite the tiredness) shocked me. I was very grateful with him and his family for stopping and waiting patiently meanwhile I did the pictures.
