Advertisement Posted February 25, 2008 Posted February 25, 2008 Hi jaapv, Take a look here SD cards for DMR?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
robsteve Posted February 25, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 25, 2008 With firmware 1.2 or later the DMR will support up to 4gb SD cards. It will not support the SDHC cards. The transcend 150x in 2gb and 4gb work well and recently I started using the Sandisk Extreme III 2gb. The DMR originally shipped with a 512mb Sandisk Ultra II. For the first year I used 2gb Ultra II and then went on to the Tanscend 150x. The Transcend 150x are fast, but the constuction leaves a bit to be desired. At the current price of the 2gb Extreme III, I would just go with them. Robert

cmb_ Posted February 25, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 25, 2008 I'm very happy with the performance of the Sandisk 2GB Extreme III. Same here and I also use the Transcend 150x 2gb as well.
psquared Posted February 25, 2008 Share #5 Posted February 25, 2008 I've been using Transcend 150X 4GB cards. One of them has gone through the washing machine and dryer (forgot to take it out of my pants pocket ) and still works fine.
jaapv Posted February 25, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted February 25, 2008 Thanks, folks. I was specifically looking for the size of the cards supported. I'll get some Sandisk 4 Gb ones.
photorunner Posted February 25, 2008 Share #7 Posted February 25, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I may be mistaken but SanDisk's 4GB cards are SDHC which won't work with the DMR. I use Transcend 4 GB 150x with no problems. Better verify before you buy.
robsteve Posted February 25, 2008 Share #8 Posted February 25, 2008 Thanks, folks. I was specifically looking for the size of the cards supported. I'll get some Sandisk 4 Gb ones. They will not work because the Sandisk 4gb are SDHC. Since you have a M8 as well, anything that works in the M8 should work in the DMR.
psquared Posted February 25, 2008 Share #9 Posted February 25, 2008 They will not work because the Sandisk 4gb are SDHC. Since you have a M8 as well, anything that works in the M8 should work in the DMR. But don't use the same card for both M8 and DMR without first formatting it in the camera you're going to use. I use Transcend 4GB in the DMR and SanDisk 2GB in the M8 so that there is no confusion.
jc_braconi Posted February 25, 2008 Share #10 Posted February 25, 2008 the Sandisk Extreme III 2gb is working fine for me and relatively cheap, around 27 euros,
dhsimmonds Posted February 26, 2008 Share #11 Posted February 26, 2008 The Transcend 4Gb 150x work well for me giving 201 RAW images. No problems so far with construction. I also use the sandisk Extreme 3 and they too are just fine if you can live with 99 RAW shots per card.
