mattplantguy Posted February 18, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 18, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Am looking to get a good macro lens for shooting flowers. I wanted to save a few dollars by getting an adapter ring and using a 50mm f3.5 Zuiko macro lens on my digital SLR (a Panasonic DMC-l1). I have heard that in general one would be giving up quality for saving a few dollars - but am wondering if you all have any experience in this area? I would not need any auto focus capabilities, but would worry about bad image quality or light readings, etc; Also I am told the adapter rings will make it possible to use the OM lenses, but will it be good for ALL of them? Or do I need to be careful about what I purchase? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Matt

A modern 4/3rds lens with superb performance and it will balance nicely on your L1.
johnwolf Posted February 19, 2008 Share #3 Posted February 19, 2008 Matt, I see you haven't gotten much response to your question. Although anything goes in the digital forum, these are mostly Leica users. I suggest you try your question again in the Alternative Camera & Lens forum on fredmiranda.com.
