arthurpreston Posted February 16, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 16, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) I suppose this falls in the "nature" category - A friend received a pretty orchid for Valentine's day - I know they are a dime a dozen (or more), but using a 50mm Summicron on an M8 makes them look nice. I didn't want to spoil it by converting to B&W. Anyone know the particular brand of orchid?

Artichoke Posted February 16, 2008 Share #3 Posted February 16, 2008 this appears to be a Phalaenopsis hybrid of which there are many I suspect it has a healthy dose of Phal philippinensis in it one of the advantages of this generic is the longevity of its blooms phals like to be grown on their side so the leaf crown does not get wet overwatering kills more plants than underwatering with care this will be a regular bloomer
psquared Posted February 16, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 16, 2008 Arthur, Excellent. Like the colors, composition, lighting, and details. I wonder though, if it would benefit from a little more depth of field. Peter
