redfalo Posted February 5, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 5, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Here are some shots taken at a recent Bundesliga soccer match, Schalke vs. Stuttgart (we won by 4:1, BTW) Done with my M8 and the 4/135 Tele-Elmar from 1966. I always loved this lens with my M7, especially since I bought it for just 265 Euro on Ebay. Together with the M8 I thinks it´s a wounderful combination. All shots are taken with f=4,0 and ISO 640, from the tribune (row 12). rickp13 Posted February 5, 2008 Share #3 Posted February 5, 2008 hello olaf i like your shots of the soccer match - good action, color and quite sharp. did you use an external viewfinder with your tele-elmar, or estimate somehow using the rangefinder window on your camera? i recently found a 135mm hektor for my m8, and am curious which viewfinder solution worked for you. thanks kind regards rick
isaac Posted February 5, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 5, 2008 Hello Olaf! Can not realy be, because everybody (and every child) knows, that you need at least a (white painted) 300mm lens, a dedicated auto focus and an one digit DSLR which allows you 10 frames per second... :-) But your pictures are GREAT! Guest Robert Belasario Posted February 5, 2008 Share #5 Posted February 5, 2008 that is impressively sharp for a tele lens ! Most good quality Tele-lenses are "impressively sharp" even the inferior brand ones like Canon and Nikon
redfalo Posted February 5, 2008 Author Share #6 Posted February 5, 2008 hello olaf i like your shots of the soccer match - good action, color and quite sharp. did you use an external viewfinder with your tele-elmar, or estimate somehow using the rangefinder window on your camera? i recently found a 135mm hektor for my m8, and am curious which viewfinder solution worked for you. thanks kind regards rick I guessed the frame with rangefinder window. It´s much easier to do when you use the frame selector and chose the frameline for the 90mm. (Unfortunatly you have to do this manually since with the 4/135 Tele Elmar the camera shows the framelines for the 24 and 35mm lenses.) Then you know that the 135mm frame is somewhere in between the rangefinder window and the 90mm frameline. I got used to this with my 0.58mm M6 which does not offer a frameline for 135 mm either. And compared to film using the 135 with the M8 is rather convenient since you can have a look at the picture immediatly afterwards. But of couse this method has its limits... yours olaf
