leica dream Posted February 4, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 4, 2008 Advertisement (gone after registration) Earlier to-day I showed my inadequacies when trying to post a picture and failing at first attempt. I have started using PS6 (no previous experience) but trying to arrive at a resizing result that fits this forum seems to be trial and error guesswork. Does anyone have a set of simple resizing steps which can be applied generally in PS6, or even as a starting point? The size stated at the top of the pixel settings in the image resizing screen does not seem to bear any relationship to what the forum upload finds. Grateful for any help. Artichoke Posted February 5, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 5, 2008 this is fairly simple after you do the PS work on your image, but before you sharpen it (if you plan to sharpen) you should then change it to sRGB color space if working in another color space such as aRGB by going to EDIT/Convert to Profile and chose sRGB from the drop box click OK the bit depth should be 8 for the net and can be set to this in IMAGE/Mode then to resize A. go to IMAGE/Image Size use the largest number that is if a portrait orientation use the height, if a landscape orientation use the width set the size (800 pixels should get you to a good size for posting on these forums) ...if you change the resolution setting (not essential) then do this first & reset the pixel size afterwards B. click on the OK ...leave the defaults as set ...that is all the boxes should be checked and the method of resizing should be Bicubic C. then sharpen (if you wish) & save this should produce optimally good results for the net (but not for printing) I no longer have PS 6 on my 'puter, but I think this has not changed with the subsequent editions good luck I wants to see your photographs
