Is stunning clarity of files going to be enough or is it more important to be able to get the shot? Sepang warm up lap.
Advertisement Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Hi rob_x2004, Take a look here Is the future if digital really going to be without autofocus. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
uulrich Posted September 2, 2006 Share #2 Posted September 2, 2006 Even if these kind of pictures were taken with manual focus lenses and film I would consider photographs of these categories very boring, extremly repetitive. This time it's #77, the next time is some even number approaching a right curve or whatsoever. You should try to figure out how custom settings in your camera can be set to avoid AF Lock at closest distance. :-)

Comprehension 101 bud I think my R kit is in borrowed time and it is off to M. I will leave digital to the big boys. Whether R stays in that frey ... Guest stnami Posted September 2, 2006 Share #5 Posted September 2, 2006 Uwe I guess you missed the shot and point in one 'fowel' swoop. Saying boring without backing a statement is being disengaged to what is presented and why it is presented and to which audience .........too much focusing on the camera thinking not enough photographing eh....? Rob in the case of mechanical objects and their related activities digital is more than convenience as it's clean images go a long way showcasing the machines' assets such as providing information on faring style, chamber placement and other structural points of interest. So where is that red Ducati? Focusing, well with P&S not of primary importance otherwise sure is.....

notx Posted September 4, 2006 Share #7 Posted September 4, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) Sports photography is the purview of SLRs. No question. I do sport photography (speedway mainly), and there is not way I would be using a Leica, er, any Leica for it really. First off AF really can help, as can fast motor drives. Then again, my biggest concern is a lack of weather sealing to protect the camera from flying mud, clay and other debris. This really just goes back to the RF vs SLR arguments. And already fought out over the last fifty years. And for a comment on the photo. Good sharp shot. I like the face being clear in the image. I would however have liked a slower shutter speed, to show a bit more motion. Personal opinion of course:)
