phybron Posted September 2, 2006 Share #1 Posted September 2, 2006 Advertisement (gone after registration) My D2 has gone on ebay, with much regret. This is the last shot I took with it. Pelican in St. James's Park. First introduced as a gift from a Russian Ambassador in 1664.

phybron Posted September 2, 2006 Author Share #3 Posted September 2, 2006 Phil - Lovley framing, tones and detail. what will you use now? Thanks - uncropped too. Now I've got an old Canon QL17, an Olympus Mju II (Stylus Epic in the US) and there's 20 rolls of HP5+ and a Jobo CPE2 on the way. Bit scary using film having learned what I have with digital but I'm determined to master it before looking into digital again. I loved the D2, but the sensor is just too small to be creative with DOF and it's altogether just a bit too big to take everywhere with me at the moment. Having said that it's been a superb camera and I'm missing it already even though it's just sat in its box next to me, not even sold yet. I have high hopes for the M8 but by the time I'll be able to afford that it'll probably (hopefully) be the M9. Until then, as we all know, there's nothing like the D2 on the market. Guest Metroman Posted September 2, 2006 Share #4 Posted September 2, 2006 Phil, sorry to see you have put the D2 up for sale. I got mine a few weeks ago! I have gone back to film after 5 years of digital. I got an old leica CL three weeks ago and dusted off my Jobo CPE2 and have been thoroughly enjoying film photography again. My 8 year old son has learnt to use the processor so now all I have to do is shoot film, prep the CPE2 and he does the rest I will keep my D2 and D-Lux 2 but I am getting rid of my Canon 300D & 20D to part fund an M7 or an MP. Hope you enjoy the next phase of your photographic adventure. You can't beat the anticipation of opening the tank and seeing a negative!!!!

I'm looking forward to developing film and with a bit of luck the D2 sale will fund a film scanner purchase so I can get them on the computer at least.
